I may not actually do any mods to this device since I actually enjoy using it while camping. It has a relatively useless "alarm" function that makes an annoying "whopping" noise. Leastwise, it's annoying when off in the middle of the woods somewhere and I accidentally slide the switch to the right (alarm) instead of the left (light). Perhaps I will mod it by putting in an extra switch for that alarm. Stupid alarm.
Anyway. As the batteries begin to fail, the alarm noise becomes very sad sounding. Sad sounding in a very useful way. In a way that I want to be able to reproduce.
Current status: functional, but unmodified
