Skylight?
6/7/2008 1:42 PMWednesday night I noticed water coming into the basement from the cellar door. Opening it, I discovered water raining down from the shoddy plywood enclosure. I decided it finally needed to be replaced.
While digging through the barn looking for a material I could use to repair it I came across an old industrial window (I believe my brother salvaged it from the old Science Museum Building when it moved). As luck would have it, the dimensions of the window and the dimensions of the top part of the enclosure were the same (3' x 4'6")!
I was able to remove the old plywood and some of the worse stud lumber and just slide the window on top. A few extra boards and some caulk and I was done!
